IPhone Chargers, 2016 and 2019
Rives BFK, Watercolor, Graphite
16’ x 2’

143 paper outlets with iphone chargers in a tangle of white that disrupts that clean, all white gallery space. Conceptually, one could read a cultural obsession and dependence upon connectivity. I think about how every home has a tangle of these cords, assuring we remain powered up. Formally, the work is interested in abstracting the ubiquitous into line and shadow, further magnified by the works lack of utility (despite being something we all need and depend upon).

The final iteration of the work is part of the FB Artist in Residency Program at the Oculus Research Office in Pittsburgh, PA. Documentation by http://wiseknave.com/
